How to manage gems, scrolls, essence, gold, and every other resource in Wittle Defender. What to spend, what to save, and what to never waste.
Resource Categories
Wittle Defender has multiple currency types, each with specific uses: Diamonds (soft premium) โ summons, refreshes. Luminite (real money only) โ premium purchases. Lunarite (events only) โ event shop. Enigma Keys โ Runic Plains (cap 65, regen ~4min/key). Wisdom Crystals โ Talent draws. Stellar Dust โ Curio reforge. Gold โ gear upgrades. Stamina โ Campaign runs. Elemental Essence โ hero star-up for Mythic/Xeno heroes. Managing each type separately is key to efficient progression.
Diamonds โ The Critical Resource
Every diamond counts. Rules: NEVER impulse pull on non-rush banners. Save for Rate-Up heroes during Summon Rush. Never buy Hero EXP 2h packs with diamonds (the 8h pack is better value). Never refresh shops with diamonds in early game. Daily income: ~594 diamonds F2P, ~1,894 with premium monthly cards. Bank target: Save minimum 200 scrolls (6,000 diamonds) before each Summon Rush cycle.
Elemental Essence โ Scarce and Critical
Elemental Essence is the scarcest resource in Wittle Defender. You need 2,220 Essence to star-up a Mythic hero to Immortal, and 1,110 for Legendary. Sources: Summoning duplicate heroes (each duplicate gives Essence). Summon Market has Goddess Water which converts to Essence โ buy every day. Events occasionally give Essence. Do NOT waste Essence on F-tier heroes. Save all Essence for your core S-tier roster.
Gold โ Never Stop Farming
Gold is needed for gear upgrades, talent card draws, rune upgrades, and more. The rune upgrade to max (Level 15) costs 775,000 Gold per rune โ 12 runes ร 775,000 = 9.3M gold for a full set. Always run Golden Rat Hole (unlimited, great gold). Always run Goblin Ground (unlimited, great gold). Never skip these two modes.
Enigma Keys โ Timing Matters
Enigma Keys cap at 65 and regen ~1 per 4 minutes. If your keys are capped, you are losing resources. Check keys twice daily minimum. Use all keys in Runic Plains during Collection Rush events for maximum value. Keys also generate Collection Coins (used in Collection Market at Guild Shop) โ these unlock Collection Hall passives.
Resource Planning Framework
Weekly rhythm: Monday โ check event calendar, plan pull schedule. Tuesday โ reset day, Arena reset, check rush event status. Daily โ max Quick Patrols, all dailies, all free attempts, arena tickets. Monthly โ plan around Summon Rush weeks (weeks 1 and 4 of the cycle). Annual โ major events (CNY, Christmas, anniversaries) give large resource drops โ plan ahead.
